Newbie with something to share
« on: June 04, 2007, 05:05:04 PM »
Hello all... I've been surfing the boards for a long while now.. I've always thought that these little trackers were the most underrated 4x4 on the market, I've been waiting to find the exact one I wanted, and now that I'm finally the proud owner of one,I decided to join up and share a picture....  It's a 95 model, 16v 5 speed, 107,000 miles, No rust that I can find, and everything seems to work well....Today I removed a set of ricer boy flames that covered both sides of the truck, did an oil change, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and wires, and I undercoated the entire thing... I paid $1,500 for the jewel.. let me know what you think...

nice!

Try popping off the tail light lenses.  If you don't see rust - especially behind the driver's side unit, you have a well-preserved Tracker!

I'll pull the taillights tomorrow, thanx for the info, I never would have looked there until I had to change a bulb

Wheresmyhat: thanx for the compliment, I think it looks ten times better without the flames as well. I like the all black look, which I hope to achieve very shortly.

Actually the lift and tires are what I'm looking into right now.. I've actually IM'ed you about your spacers on ebay just now... just trying to find out if the 2" spacers cause any cv angle problems.. whenever I get my lift figured out, it'll be some 15x8 black steelies and some 31's, or 32's if I can stuff them under there..... thanx for the reply

actually, I feel like it took me too long, but I'm not used to these trackers just yet.... I'm not sure exactly how many hours, but I started on it at about 6-7 this morning, and with a couple breaks here and there, I didn't shut the garage down till 5... so basically all day long

Hey bandit02, you should be able to get some 30" tires under it with just the spacer lift. If I were you I'd add a body lift. I use a 3" body and my 1.5" spacers and run 31-11.5's on my 4dr. It looks good and with a little trimming does not rub at all. By the way welcome aboard, you will be hooked on modifing your Tracker!!!
