« on: June 22, 2007, 07:54:26 PM »
I was wonderin if anybody knows whats worng with my tracker. Its a 94 with the 1.3 liter  8 valve moter. when i go offroad for a little or just drive it around for awile it starts to lose power. its only for a split second but it dose it a bunch after awhile. I dont know what it could be but i talked to some people and they said it might be the ignition modual so i when and bought a new one for like $150 and it still dose it so i dont know but i was if somebody els knew. I would realy apprecate the help thanks.

A 1.3 in a 94? If I am not mistaken that should have a 1.6 engine, is it fuel injected? Did someone do an odd downsizing motor swap? Have you checked your fuel filter and air filter? Are there any lights coming on like check engine?

im pretty sure its the 1.3 8v and it is fuel injected. the fuel and air fitlers are good. it will start up and run fine but after awhile driving it will just starts losing power for split seconds over and over but if you let it sit for awhile not runing then start it back up it will run fine till you drive it for awhile

Have you checked your plugs and wires? A cracked insulator on a plug sometimes gets worse when hot and the same with plug wires.

Plugs should be hot after running engine and the wires get heat off the exhaust manifold. I would check those items and if they look old replace them since they are cheap.

there was no 1.3 8v fuel injected motor in a tracker, any year. there was in 1989 a limited ammount of 1.3 8v motors used, but they were ALL carburated! they do not interchange

If you look at the back of the block it should have cast into it the letters G16A for a 1.6 8V.
