ok so i got all my parts in today and i went to meet bigrubber *matt* and start my exhaust project. it took longer for me to drive to the other side of town for the piping than for us to get it together. he took some pictures so hopefully he can post them up for me but then we all went wheeling. it was me, matt, and my friend paul in his jeep. holy crap matt is one crazy guy. he took me down hills i NEVER would have attempted on my own and i had doubts of the little rig. again im impressed with the zuke. matt thanks a ton! we definately gotta go out again. and my rig's still dirty

hehe well we couldnt' get any trail pics because it was so dark out. but i had 2 wheels hanging. we'll try to get some sunday. on a side note. my mother just talked to my uncle who's also my mechanic. he said since i changed the catalytic converter on my tracker it won't pass inspection. wtf...the thing has over 120k miles on it. it's well within the legal limits for me to change the thing. at least that's what i've heard. any input to help me out? and yea digger i can't wait to play either

As long as there is still cat in there, it should pass. Sounds like he is just being a nitpick to me... same goes for your holes under the taillights. The holes aren't through into the cab, so what's the problem? Keep in mind though, I don't have emmisions inspection in my county...

well im gonna get some body work attempted and try to weld some little plate in place of the holes to cover them best i can. nothing real fancy just the basics. but he does inspections by the book but from what i heard if u have over 100k miles on it it's perfectly legal to change it out. or if it's defective. otherwise it's illegal

   well this is true also...after taking it out it doesn't look as bad as i had initally though..i guess a hatchet hit to it would look like a rock slice

Here in VA, I think it is illegal to remove a functional CC, however, if it is defective, or not present, the shop can put a new CC on.  So, if I rip my CC off or tear it open on a trail, I can bring the vehicle to the shop and they can put a new one on.  As far as I know, they don't need any proof that the original was bad or damaged.

BTW, did I miss it somewhere?  What exhaust components (hi-flow CC, pipe size, muffler, etc?) did you put on?

Here are the pics of the new exhaust. I didn't get any wheelin', it was too dark. The only damage I found to my Tracker was a broken rear shock mount. (it was only one this time, during the 04 PA Rally I broke both!!)

My friend got one at the local auto zone for 14.99, its been on there like a month and is already really rusty.  :-/
