This would seem fitting... Saturday my family and I were on our way to Bloomsburg. My 2yr old is crazy about monster trucks. About 20 miles from home pulling about 70 on the hwy, SMOKE billows from under the truck, behind the truck... So bad in fact we couldn't see behind us so I pulled off the hwy, WAY OFF THE HWY.
In case your ever in a situation like this stay belted in the vehicle until the smoke clears, if you can't see them they can't see you got it.
Once we pulled over and shut the truck off the smoke cleared immediatly (top of a mountain, wind was blowing). No smoke, no fire, were OK.
Got out and looked underneath, OIL EVERYWHERE, and I mean EVERYWHERE even on the tailgate, tires, brakes, everything was soaked. It was black and red.
Called Suzuki roadside, I'm out of that warranty but they helped and charged me $110 for the tow to the nearest dealer.
My dad came and picked us up as all the rental joints in the small town were closed. We went to the show, determined at this point... Even my son was determined however he did cry when they towed it away... "Stop, they taking daddy's car... No Suzuki No..." is what he kept saying, and yes he can say Suzuki, Jeep was his first word, but he can say it and spot them out easily (samurai's mostly).
Long story shortened. EVERY SINGLE SEAL in the Transmission, Blown. T-case seals Blown, Engine rear main seal, blown. Dipstick o-rings on both, blown. Tourqe converter, Blown, Front transmission lines, blown. Engine had 1qt of oil left, transmission was bone dry. T-case had a little left too.
Good news: It's covered under warranty. It's only got 60k, really it has 60,006 when it was pulled over.
Bad News: I'm out a truck for two weeks, $110 for a tow, $700 in rental car fee's. This is the forth one this dealer has done this year with the same problems.
They just called and gave me this news about 2hrs ago. Engine and tranny were being removed today.
So I guess the Mazda designed V6 carrys it's same engine seal issue with it to Suzuki. Hopefully they fix these issues with newer models.
Mine: 2004 XL7 EX 5pass. 5spd auto.
