I just picked up a 1993 tracker parts rig and while changing a tire I noticed the tire did not want to spin unless you really tried to turn it hard by hand it will go but about three turns is all i'm good for and it is smooth no missing teeth type feel to it,can you see the diff and tell the diffrence from the fill plug? and also the axles on this are real shiny where they bolt up to the drums like they are chromed, went to calmini's site and they look black in the picture, does any one have a set of shiny tracker axles? I know that i'm not that lucky to score almost 900 bucks worth of xtras, Thank's.        p.s. did the lsd's come stock in these? Did your's?

The axles I got in for a friend from Calmini were shiny - you might be in luck  ;D

LSD - jack the whole diff up off the ground - turn the wheels, if they both turn in the same direction then LSD for sure ( or locker! ).

LSD diffs came out in the odd Kick but not common.

Good luck.

Gotta be in neutral for that, though.  In gear, the opposite wheel should rotate in the opposite direction regardless.

Doesn't matter, neutral or not.  In an open diff tires will spin opposite ways when they are both off the ground.  Because the spider gears spin easier than the ring gear.

I've been told that Tracks/Kicks were never sold with the LS in North America.  However I can't verify that other than to say someone on here told me that years ago... :P

Nice score if the stuff turns out to be what you think it is. 8)

Thank's for the replys guys, I live just over the california border off of hwy 97 in oregon, the rig came from cali and got the old welcome to Oregon here is a realy bad Icy road thats in the shade going down hill trick and rolled it, a friend of mine owned the tow yard at the time and prob. gave him a good sized bill for a night time recovery and pullling it out of the ditch and the guy could not afford to get it out of hock, another friend of mine took the engine and trans out of it and put it in his sammie (ott kicker 3)and cut the rest of the rig in half and made it into a trailer that the paint just happends to match my 4 door so I picked it up to see what I could do with it to haul extra gas and supplys for camping, I'm going to have to pull the rear end apart now just to see whats in there, LOL

Kicks / Vitaras / Escudos - whatever you call them where you live run LSD's with clutch packs. If you want to tighten them up add some spacers / shims. They wear out quite quickly and become basically ineffective fairly quickly - over here in NZ and over in Australia the Nissan Patrols have LSD rears but they have a different set up that uses a cam arrangement - you can grind a new ramp profile to achieve a more positive lock up, I wish Suzuki adopted this set up  :'(

Beercheck - an LSD will not allow the wheels to turn in different directions - the design does not allow it. Check it out for yourself, I am sure you will agree  ;)

Just in case anyone is interested  :-\
