Has anybody made a grill for a trackick?
« on: November 27, 2004, 10:27:14 AM »
Today I lost my grill.  It came off when wheeling and didn't notice it til later.  It was probably driven over after coming off.  Now I need to either find a used grill, make one or go grill-less.  Has anyone made a wire mesh grill?   The kind ricers put on their cars. :)  Has anyone here gone grill-less?

Dude, pull the bumper cover off, slap some more green paint on er, and call it done! I almost went grill less and bumperless, but that wouldn't fly!

The fender wasn't actually making any noise.  Plus I can fix that easily enough.

I just need to find a point to screw the fender down to at the bottom.  I'm not too worried about that.  The Hi-tech's did great until I got in over my head.  I love those tires.

Holy cow! I though losing the occasional mirror and getting the occasional scratch or dent was bad enough! LOL!!! All that damage was from ONE outing? Good job! LOL!!!

The worst part is losing the grill.  It just poped out an an inopportune time.  The fender and the mirror were from being pulled against a tree when being winched out.

I haven't tried yet, but as soon as I can score a hood, I'll start trying.  (Ugly incident with an 8 point buck).

I got a grill from a yard in Elgin a week or so ago.  It's off an '89 Kick, and the only one they had.  I would have to cut it to get it to fit the '96, and I kinda hesitate to do that because its in pretty good shape.

Before I go cutting on it, I may try the Quincy-Lynn technique of forming one out of urethane foam and fiberglassing it.

If he only lost a hood and grill I'd say he won.

Although the deer's demise was not immediate, he was later killed in a shootout with the Kildeer police.  (I kid you not...  ...that really is the name of the police department that responded.)  I had to wait another half hour for it to get light enough to drive without lights, but I did drive the Zuk home...

Thats what it looks like, but there is always more damage you can't see. Rule number one when lookin at body work.
