buying a sami today
« on: November 29, 2004, 04:13:59 AM »
okay
yay or nay

asking around $1600 USD

It is an 87 with little rust and a hard top
stock drive train
6" SPOA lift
31" brand new MTR's on 2.5" backspace rims
and new centerforce clutch
has a new deck and stuff too
however...
things that need to be fixed

right blinker marker is missing, causing right blinker to not work
Ebrake is disconnected
wipers are not functional
barely chugs past 43 mph with stock gearing
engine seems fine idles fine too
2nd gear syncro grinds at any speeds

I want to make this my daily driver as well
I would install a locker, and the calmini 5.24 gears
and perhaps a header/carb/exhaust mod on the stock 1300

any suggestions?

and how much is tranny work?
03' 2.0L CAMI Tracker w/ 1.5" Front Spacers, 2" Rear Spacers, 1 & 1/4" poly-rubber rear spacer w/ hose clamps, Monroe Crown Vic interceptor rear shocks,1/4" bumpstop extenders, 1.5" strut Extenders, removal of sway bar and strut bar + plenty of cutting for 245/75/16 Goodyear MTRs

Sounds like a good deal to me personally. If the tires are new, then it's almost worth it just for the tires.

I'm sure blinker markers and wiper motors are super easy to find (anyone here can chime in) As for ebrake.. oh well.

Chugging past 43mph, well, that's gearing I'm sure.

As for the tranny, it's easier if you just find a used replacement for cheap (what are they 75-150 bucks?) and replace it.

Any pictures?
