Side mirror replacement options
« on: November 27, 2004, 10:33:16 AM »
Today I crunched my side mirror.  What options are there for replacement.  Can I get the mirror glass anywhere?  I'm not as concerned about the housing.  I read the post about the $7 Wal-Mart swing away mirror.  Any other options?

I was looking at Crown Vic Mirrors the other day they's fit in the stock location with a little trimming.   Not sure of the Bolt pattern though.  Crown Vic mirrors are folder also ;)

no, the glass broke before the mirror.  i found replacement glass that you cut to fit.  i think ace hardware sells it.

What did you crunch? the glass, the housing, the frame or all three? The frame can be JB-Welded back together. The glass can be replaced with the cut and stick stuff at walmart. You can also just run to the salvage yard and pick up a replacement...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

I had the "cut to fit" stuff on my passenger mirror for a while; drove me crazy, it was so warped.  I was able to pick up a mirror for about $15 from eBay.  I've seen grills, fenders, and just about everything else there too.

I broke the drivers side glass,
got a replacement piece of mirror
from the autoparts for a Ford P/U
cut it to fit and glued it on with
50 year silicone, the edges are a
little rough, but I only paid $2 for
the glass on the closeout table
