Sway Bar kit for Suzuki XL-7 2001
« on: August 12, 2007, 09:20:57 AM »
Hello everyone.  I had my truck lifted this spring by 2.5" using Rocky Road Outfitters lift kit system.  I noticied that the my dealer, where I always take my truck back for service, took a longer time to install the kit;  lets say 3 - 4 days.  Rocky Road says it was easy, complete bolt on system..hmmm?  Anyways, a little while after the install, I started getting this metal clanking sound over some road bumps, and when turning.  they said I needed a new sway bar kit.  Now, I'm not mechanical as most of you guys are, but to me, that part sounded like something that would almost never break, etc.  They order a new one and install it.  Truck rode like new again.  Then a couple weeks after that, got the same sounds again.  Now my service managers says that I need to tell Rocky Road that I need a sway bar kit that will fit the new height of my truck, 2.5" lifted.  Rocky Road responsed and says that they never had issues with Suzki's sway bar, or with any other sway bar kit at all.  They say I should make sure the dealer tighneed everything correctly, etc.  Now before I call my service manager, any suggestions of what could be the problem.  Why should the sway bar, or bolts be breaking and would the mechanic have had to remove the sway bar for the lift install?  I will pose these questions to my service manager also.

Please help!

I ran for 3 years with sway bars and a 2.5 calmini lift with no issues.  I now run with out the sway bar at all for better flex.  They must be doing something while reinstalling the sway bar.

Just take the sway bar off.  You won't notice it's gone as long as you don't drive like a moron.

Thanks blacknight and AJMBLAZER, I may just do that, removing the sway bar if the service manager has no clue.  I emailed Rocky Road again for their input before calling my service manager.

Thanks again you guys!

PS  You guys ROCK!
