need a radiator
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:38:57 PM »
I need to know if the radiator in the tracker is the same as the one in a sidekick of the same year, and if the one for the auto is the same as the one for the manual, with the exception of the  oil cooler lines.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)

The radiator will be the same but if you have an auto you need the oil cooler. If you are trying to use the rad. out of an auto trackick in a manual they should be the same other than, like you said, the oil lines.

I've found that if you get a rad from a 4 door they are 2 inches taller than a 2 door rad
94 Kick with bigger tires
99 Vitara 2wd
10 Gr Vitara

So I got a radiator, but it wasnt quite like the one that was in it. It has metal tanks on it instead of plastic ones, and it has the oil cooler lines for the automatic transmission. But here is the strange part. It was the right height and the bolts lined up, and so did the rubber mounts on the bottom, but it was 3/4" wider than the old one (original: 20" wide, New one:20 3/4" wide). Being that I couldnt waste any more time without a car, I modified the mounts to be 3/4" wider, but now the top edge of the metal tank on the radiator hits the structural part of the hood, and the fan shroud doesnt fit it as good as the original.  I was wondering what this radiator fits in normally, as I think it is really strange that all the dimensions are the same except the width being 3/4 of an inch too wide and the top being square instead of rounded so it hits the hood.
