I have to go with the recomendations for a light build.  Give it some nice wheels and some agressive looking 30" tires and lower gears.   ;D

where in canada do you live?, this thing must have been driven for like 2 summers then locked away, what a find!!!

and i agree, whatever you do to it make sure its reversable, maybe go with lift springs instead of a spoa so you dont have chunks of metal welded to your axle
no lockers, and probably not gears cause you wont wanna wheel it

I have 3 stockers I've been holding on to.  A 1990 (Second owner) a 1994 (it was a deal) & a like new CLEAN 1987 JX conv (Couldn't pass it up).   The 87 is in the best condition of them all with only 60k miles.  It currently has only a Cal-mini S/R.   It is very nice to get out and drive a stocker every now and then just to remember how it actually feels and to refresh the base line of stock accel & handeling.  A good friend just finished his 87 JX stocker and was actually keeping up with my 83 Toyota in his stocker Sammy tonight at 80 mph on the Hwy.

His others a Built carbed 8v on 33 boggers and a 16v on 36" TSL's are nice rides but none are as sweet as the clean well polished stocker.  Those things are the ones turning the most heads now.  Just as The build Sammy's have gained notability and respect among others, the stock clean sammy is becoming a very rare find.

Anouther vote for Leaving it Stock.  While in business, the advertisement value would be great sitting along side one of your tricked out rides.  Like has been said before They are so Rare.

I had a stock 90' with 45K miles on it. Red and beutiful. I bought it from a guy that kept it in a storage unit, when he wasn't pulling it behing his RV.  Sold it to some punk kid who rolled it a week latter.  It' still going, I see it every once in a while and I think I can hear it crying. I beleive I was the last person to change it's oil nearly 4 years ago.
Keep it stock, it'll save you the heart ache.
