egr related questions again... I fiddled around with my egr system as posted above (cleaning it all out as best I can reach).  Light is still on.  When running and I activate the EGR diaphram, it acts like its going to stall but doesnt.

Do any of you know if it should stall out completely when activating the EGR diaphram?  If so I may just replace it at 169$ cdn!!

Thanks again for your help

any more ideas i dont notice it other than the gas mileage running 30" tires with cold air intake, full header preformance exhaust, new  iridium plugs and new rotor, i should be getting more than 25 miles to the gallon shifting at 3000rpms right?

got a pic of that cold air intake?

I have the code too.  But i'm lost on what port you all are talking about that i should jam a coat hanger into.  This seems like a pretty common issue, someone should do a tutorial on here.

Anyhow as i said i have the code on my '95 16v, it kicked on when i replaced my egr valve.  Could this also be fixed by installing an aftermarket header?  I ask because i was planning to do that anyway and if it's carbon backup in the exaust manifold i'd rather just replace it than go through all that on a part i'm going to replace anyway.

Hey ya i started this topic and have been battlein it since the kicker was bought. Im only 19 but know alot about it.  But i did the same thing most of you guys did, rammed a hanger or wire up my ports and tubes tryin to clean it. for some this worked for others, i did not. i found a man at a swap meet bought a used lower intake manifold, then had it hot tanked, ported, and a little trick but thats besides the point.  When i took my lower manifold off it was full of carbon, i kept cleaning and re cleaning my newly hot tanked manifold, but air would still not pass thorugh. the port leading to the exhasut blew like a champ, lots of break cleaner and Q tips broke it all out.  But from the EGR to the intake it was still blocked. I took a coat hanger broke it appart, then located 4 tiny holes inside the intake leading from the EGR main pipe.  I dug at these for about 10 mins a hole and all were unclogged.i re-instaled the intake and have had not codes or problems for 5000 miles.( knock on wood)  Stop runnin cheap gas!! this is where most carbon and build up comes from i run cheveron, and a fuel system cleaner every three tanks.  My miles per gallon are sittin steady at 25-27 everywhere.  i do have cold air intake, header, high flow cat, 2.5 exhaust, and spark plug wires/plugs so i dont know if that helps as well. but any other questions just ask
