Calmini center diff mount question

hi all
i just fitted a calmini 3" suspension kit to my vitara. and i have had conflicting advice.
do i leave out the sleave in the center diff drop bracket or do i put it in.
help

If I remember correctly, you put it in, but it needs to be cut to the correct length.

One of the folks with a 3" lift will chime in I'm sure!

yeah it says that in the instructions..... but a lot of people i know have left it out. so i'm not sure what is the best thing to do.
as you have had the calmini kit for far longer than us lot in the uk, i thought you might know more about the best thing to do.

Taken from the instructions that came with mine today:

Step 9
Using factory hardware, install new Calmini center diff bracket to differential and #MO2522 supplied bushing.
NO sleeve is required. Fig.2 secure hard wear.

I would guess that if the hole through the middle is big enough to take the sleeve you fit it and if its not you don't.
Shane, could you measure the hole diameter on your bushing, thanks.

17.75mm ID is the bushe size and the metal sleeve will fit right in so I'll be cutting mine down and useing it.

thoughts.
I know trucks that didnt run with the sleeve and broke lots of axles as without it you clamp the axle down and its sits at the wrong angle. and kills the bush

I fitted mine back in and I have had the kit on 2 years + and not yet broken a casing yet.

Leave it up to you.

Ps broken a planet gear and a half shaft but that was down to me :-(

I heard the same thing, I think it is bad engineering not to have the sleeve as it fixes the amount of compression on the bush. The axle should still be at pretty much the right angle but if the axle will be able to move within the bush, that will lead to wear on the bush and could lead to the bolt coming loose.
