99+ 2.0 in 89-98 trackick
« on: November 20, 2004, 01:52:32 PM »
I would love to have the added power of the 2.0 in my 95 tracker. At the same time saving weight. How feasable is this motor swap and has anyone done it? I know the swap kits are available for the sammy but as usual there isn't one for the kick. Any advice is appreciated.

Use parts from a 96-98 1.8 on the 2.0(mounts,radiator,etc) and it should be pretty straight forward swap.
You will need to do some wiring on your own, this is where most people chicken out and say forget it.
You will need the engine harness and underhood harness and have to run a few wires like speed sensor, tank pressure, etc.
Make sure to get the cats with the O2 sensors also,
system is OBD2 and everything affects how the motor runs.....timing,fuel curves, etc.                Stu.

Cool
I'll probably start collecting parts to do that soon. I like the idea of the v-6 but I just think the 4 cylinder would be fine.
