Custom Cruise Bracket (for Audiovox CCS-100)
« on: October 13, 2007, 04:40:35 PM »
Well, last weekend I put an Audiovox CCS-100 cruise on my 93 tracker.  According to the manual it says it can't be hooked up under the hood and should be hooked to the gas pedal.  I'm guessing that this is just because there is no easy place to attach it under the hood.  After looking at the area around the gas pedal I decided that I would have to be a good bit crazier that I already am to try to hook the cruise to the gas pedal.  Instead, I opted to make a bracket that would fit under the hood and allow the cruise actuator to connect up in parallel with the throttle cable.  My first train of thought started with rebuilding the bracket for teh throttle cable and tacking on an extension to hold the cruise actuator.  After looking at the placement and the way it is attached I decided I would look for an easier route.  What I came up with was a bracket that slips in behind the EGR modulator bracket at an angle and then winds around to put it in the appropriate position.  Here are a few pics of the bracket in it's final form before attachment and a few pics of everything after it was finished.
