susspension lift kit instulation
« on: October 22, 2007, 07:10:04 AM »
My dad and I was installing a two inch lift kit on ower '94 Suzuiki sidekick 4x4, and when we started dropping the drivers side strut down to flip the strut mount. We rounded off the flat side of the mount that keeps the strut rod from turning when you go to replase the strut, so when we did that we had to take the strut completely off, so we tried to take the strut off, and the bottom bolt that mounts the strut to the rotar froze up. Even after heating the mount up with a acetilene tourch. So we then started taking off the holl rotor assembly, since this is the year that manule lockouts wern't used we took off the automatic lockouts, and we were surprised about the amount of greese,  because these don't need to greesed any time soon but the one problem was that we didn't have a spindle rench for it and no one  we went to had any metric ones not even napa.
Yesterday we started on it again and we got the rear end lift installed and we started on the pasenger side and the axle puled out of the dif. we couldn't get it back in. Dose anyone know how to get it back in.

Did you learn what a run-on sentence is in school? Why am I even asking that question, it's obvious. If you really want help, think about what you are asking and formulate a comprehensible question. You will more than likely get lots of suggestions.

I was going to suggest that he download the Google tool bar so he could use the spell check, but I decided to be nice and let it go. Alexm, your statement/question is really a mess, you need to spend a little time learning basic spelling and grammar. No one is going to take you seriously until you do.

Start with (Me and my dad...) it should be (My Dad and I...). ;)

make sure the silver clip is still in the groove on the inside end of the axle and slide it back in the diff until it clicks into place. Basically "push it back in" :-\

Rotate it a little as you try to push it back in so that the splines line up. It needs to go in pretty square.

Let's all try to play a little nicer.
This ain't those other boards.

we didn't have a spindle wrench for it and no one we went to had any metric ones, not even NAPA.

You can try calling Hawks Suzuki (main page or 1-800-726-8724) they even ship over night.
I ordered parts from them Monday, Got them Wednesday.

drivers side strut down to flip the strut mount, we rounded off the flat side of the mount that keeps the strut rod from turning
 ???
I'm assuming this is the top end of the strut?
Bigger Vise Grips..
Or one of the two bottom bolts that holds it to the knuckle?
The have special Sockets for rounded nuts.

Where are you located? (fill in your Profile, Please)
Hope some of this helps.

Some people just like to complain  :P However, proper spelling, and grammer help with getting your point accross, as members will not need to figure out what you're trying to say.

The last lift I did I had the same problem with the drivers side strut, the strut mount would not slip off, we tried everything we could think of with the tools we had, eventually it was not usable. We ended up getting a used replacement strut/upper mount from a parts rig up the road for $20.

As for the lower bolts, I'd cut them off and get new ones, but it's hard to suggest without seeing.

That is the point, your original post was barely legible.

All right guys we need to all play nice ;D Some people are not like others and you should understand that. Im guessing this is a young kid who is looking for some help. SO INSTEAD OF BASHING HIM try to have some common courtesey(see even I don't spell perfect) and give the kid a break. The last thing we want is to have zukiworld.com known as a rude , bashing bunch of A holes running this web site.
So please, not everyone is perfect and try to understand that. :D

For you three, here is the translation. ;)

Man some of you track/kick guys are touchy. Three of the four first posts were bashing the guys grammar. Not one of those three even offered a helping word for the guy on his lift problem. Sure it was hard to understand the guys question but still... come on.

Like Fletch said, play nice. I would try to offer some help but as I own a Samurai I can not.
