Selling my stock bumpers
« on: October 22, 2007, 12:50:45 PM »
The next month is going to see me replacing my front and rear bumpers with tubular Calminis. Is there an easy way to get a few bucks for my old ones locally?

I figure if I can get 50 bucks a bumper, hell, even 25, that's better than nothing, since they're just going into the garbage anyway.

Is eBay the only way? And should I even bother--since most of us don't use these wimpy bumpers anyway?

try the marketplace here ... that or craigslist

IMO shipping would be a PITA

Exactly what I was thinking--that's why I was thinking about maybe used parts places in the area.

It's not gonna be worth the aggravation to ship.

Let me know if ya make any money off those.
I have a front and rear off of my 95 2dr and one front off my 97 4dr.
Stock ones aren't much use.
Craig's list would be a good Idea.

You could check with your local Ecology auto parts, they may give you a few bucks for them, and take them off your hands.

There's a guy on our local craigslist who has been looking for a stock bumper.  Most likely you'll end up giving it away or throwing it away.  I still have mine, only because i haven't gotten around to taking it to the dump yet.

I'm thinking the same thing, except it'll be awhile since Calmini has the double front bumper on back order.

Which I don't understand, since they manufacture the stuff.

So I'm SO tempted to order the roof rack now, but I figure the bumpers gotta come first. The roof rack will be a nice toy for Christmas.

I believe that Calmini manufacture their stuff in batches so you have to wait for the next batch to be made. I'd guess it depends a lot on how many orders they have, they're unlikely to manufacture something for stock if they have a lot of orders for something else.
Is the roof rack in stock? they might not have any at Christmas.
