hey everyone,

in a few days im planning on installing my spring spaccers, wondering what kind of camber bolts to get?  are there good ones and bad ones? etc. what do they usually cost?

Carquest carries them $19.75. If they say they don't have a listing for your vehicle in the book ask them if they looked it up in the system. The part # is in the system not the book.

when i installed my 2" spacers i purchased a pair of camber bolts form napa.  With factory tires the camber was way off, after installing my 31's with a 2" backspaced wheel, camber was perfect with only the stock bolts.  Needless to say i returned the bolts.

   I bought my camber bolts from local auto parts shop for $16.  But I also was able to align mine without them and returned them.

I can't see how changing the backspacing would effect the camber ...

Unless the added leverage from the increased track width is now compressing the springs more ...

i don't think that tires has much to do with the camber, i think that it was the backspaced wheels that added alot of leverage to the front suspension, it was way out of wack with the factory tires but after the new rubber and rims it was perfect, i even had it put on a rack and it was just about perfect.  i have a 3" calmini body lift and more pics soon to come this week.

I take it these camber bolts are for the bottom ball joint

Was there talk before of adjusting the top holes out a little to correct this,

Im having simular issues with my 3 inch calmini kit.
Camber causing wheel bearing to go pretty quickly

I needed a camber bolt on one side with my Calmini 3" to get it right.

Has anyone broken camber bolts on there truck??

also do you get any play if you slightly adjust the holes ?

I have talked to a few guys with bigger lifts who have slotted the strut hole then welded a  washer to perminently locate the new position.

I am thinking of taking this a step further and slotting the upper strut mount hole and fabbing in the Chrysler or Toyota style ecentric washer & washer holding device.  Still giving me the ability to adjust for future changes.  

I have had many people advise me aginst the camber bolts, saying they break.  I have yet to find anyone who has actually broken one  BUT  I do believe that the camber adjustment bolts would pose a weaker link.

The Speciality Products bolts are also TUV approved
