a 16v in frfont of a 3sp is sorta rare ...

I've never seen the factory tap, but I just modified a 16v intake to add a vacuum port for a 3spd and I drilled tapped at a mounting boss at the rear of the intake (right after the throttle body).

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

possibly egr vacume lines?? try spraying all the vacume lines with wd-40 while the motor is running and listen to see if your idle increases...ive heard that these are the ones that start to leak..i also have a 95 16v with a 3sp...and recently my coil was on the fritz....and it was sputtering as well...replaced the coil.....runs beautiful

Might just be the idle air control adjustment. My 16v used to have the same problem where it would run really rough and idle at around 400 rpm if it wasn't warmed up. I adjusted the screw on top of the engine and now it idles at around 1500 rpm till it is warmed up, then it sits just right at 900-1000 rpm.

Here is a link to a page that will let you look at vacuum diagrams. The port you are asking about can be seen by clicking on Fig. 4. The hose that goes to the 3 Speed A/T is numbered 9.

Hope this helps.
