Suzuki gears up to make a Splash
If the Vauxhall Agila is set to grab all the headlines, its partner firm Suzuki is certain to make the Splash!
 16th May 2007

That’s because it has provided the basis for the new Vauxhall five-door and, having done much of the engineering work, will produce its own version of the same car, badged the Splash.

This is the first official picture of the new model, which will soon become a stylish understudy to the Swift. Previewed by a design study at last year’s Paris Motor Show, the final production Splash stays true to the original styling concept. To set it apart from the Vauxhall, the newcomer has unique styling cues front and rear.

Powerplants will be shared with the Agila, but the Suzuki looks set to come with a more comprehensive list of standard equipment. Stability control will be one piece of kit that will be fitted as standard.

Prices for the Japanese car have yet to be announced. The Splash will go on sale in the UK early next year when the smaller Wagon R+ is phased out in Britain. However, that model will continue to be sold in other markets.
