My last shrockworks purchase
« on: October 31, 2007, 03:25:40 PM »
I made my last shrockworks purchase. After purchasing front and rear Samurai bumpers as well as slidders for the same with no problems, and purchasing slidders for the 2 door Tracker (which came with no hardware or instructions) and a front Tracker bumper (which took 2 months later than promised to get) a set of 4 door slidders that arrived with no brackets or hardware or instructions (i wanted brackets unwelded due to measurement issues with the first set) I received the slidders fine (delay didn't matter as I didn't even have a 4 door yet) never got the hardware or the brackets. I didn't call right away thinking they would arrive later. Days go by and I lost forgot about them. I know have my 4 door and Jim wants to charge me for stuff I didn't receive. What is it with vendors these days its like rocky road syndrom more amd more vendors are catching it. Jim has seen the last dollar I will ever spend with him. Buyers be forewarned.

I'm really concerned that I'm going to have a similar headache with Calmini:

I want the front and rear double tube bumpers--both out of stock and on back order. They say 4 to 6 weeks, which we all know can mean 9 to 12 weeks.

I ask a simple question like, "I want these. Can someone please contact me when one, the other, or both, are in stock? Like, these things have to be installed, and timing is important."

And I get email and phone responses making me feel like I'm a total asshole for even asking for such custmer service.

I really want these, plus the roof rack (which they DO have in stock), but I'm holding off on the rack because the bumpers are more important.

But although I want these items, there comes a point when you think… You know? The hell with it. I'd rather not have it than give my money for this kind of treatment..

Companies sometimes really act like they're doing you a FAVOR!

Its called a heads-up to others, the purpose of a forum. And maybe if some venders stopped with BSing customers, we would all have nothing but great things to say ;)

Funny you should mention Shrockworks, I just sent them an email yesterday. I originally ordered the front bumper, clevis's, and Ramsey #8000 Patriot. The bumper took about the same amount of time as quoted to have it finished, but when they shipped it the other items never arrived. I talked to Jim himself and he said it was a screw up at their end. Then 3 weeks later when I received the winch, still no clevis's. So when I emailed today the response I got was "we ship what is available and we will ship the remaining parts as they are ready". Well then how about a note or something with the order that states that, so I don't have to waste my time chasing my order to make sure they just didnt forget again. Such a pain. Calmini didn't impress me much either with the waiting time on my rear bumper, about 6 weeks longer then stated, the attaching hardware from frame to bumper took alot of beating to fit. And one end of the swing away portion of the bumper was damaged in shipping, not their fault really, but some added protection for shipping placed around the ends of the tubing would have helped. Thats my little rant

Thats funny,  did I say they sucked?  Did I say he sucked?  Did I say don't buy there junk?  Nope  I mentioned my experience with the 6 items I purchased from him and the problems with the last 3 from him,  And his resolve to the issue.  I will be calling the CC company tomm. and disputing the charge due to missing pieces.   On a side note if you dont like my post?  Stay outta it.

Please read the welcome thread at the top of the page.

Snip that applys here

vendor ‘bashing’ or negative information threads should be considered a thing of the past for this forum. If you are having problems with a vendor contact them directly.

This is the first paragraph of the agreement letter that you accepted to get your account. Please follow these rules.
