SUZUKI AUTO KICKS OFF FOURTH QUARTER WITH RECORD OCTOBER SALES
· American Suzuki Auto maintains record sales pace for 2007
· SX4 and XL7 contribute to fourth quarter momentum
BREA, Calif., (Nov. 1, 2007) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. today announced automobile sales of 6,536 units in October, achieving its best October sales month in company history and putting it on pace to post its fourth consecutive year of record annual sales. Year-to-date sales now stand at 88,536 vehicles – ahead of the record-setting pace achieved in 2006 – and marking the first year in American Suzuki Auto’s 22-year history with annual volume in excess of 100,000 vehicles.
Suzuki’s record October was led by the XL7 and the SX4 lineup, which includes the media acclaimed five-door SX4 Crossover launched late last year, as well as the all-new four-door SX4 Sport, which began arriving in dealer showrooms last month. October sales of the SX4 lineup reached 1,267 units, while the stylish XL7 also posted a notable increase. Suzuki remains poised for upward sales momentum through the end of the year with the increasing popularity of the SX4 lineup and the attractive fine tuning of equipment levels and price points for the XL7 midsize crossover SUV.
“With the arrival of the all-new SX4 Sport, Suzuki has strengthened its lineup of class-leading vehicles at competitive prices, said Mark Harano, president of American Suzuki Automotive Operations. “Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the SX4 Sport adds to Suzuki’s existing lineup of attractive, fun-to-drive and affordable vehicles designed to fit virtually every consumer’s lifestyle and budget.
