Under caution is the old fashioned way.
Go loosen up the nuts on the bolts that hold the bearing retainer to the rear axle and go drive a few circles around the block. As you do your laps around the block with the loose bolts in back, the bearing should loosen up from the housing.
Only do this if you are going to pull it apart right after your trips around the block, other wise your wheel and axle may part company with you and the axle housing just when you may need them the most.
Like at a crosswalk just around a corner. Kinda hard too stop when your brakes no longer work and one side of your rig is digging into the pavement spinning you who knows where.
And again, only do this the day( the hour before) you pull the axle apart, do not have the nut's/bolt's loose for a week.
