95 kick blows fuses
« on: November 09, 2007, 09:44:51 PM »
Any one have an idea why a '95 Sidekick will blow the Ign. fuse when you try to start it? Looking at one as a DD that has this problem and may get a decent deal if it is a simple fix.

TIA

That would be a dead short in the ignition system. It probably is an easy fix but you will need to trace the wiring. Does it blow the fuse when the ignition is turned to on or only when the ignition is turned to start?

unplug the o2 sensor and see if it still does it. The preheater may have a short.

If it does it just when it's turned to start, it's probably a short either in the solenoid, or possibly the activator wire had come off the terminal and is touching ground.
