http://www.wildlandscpr.org/Wildlands CPR was formed in 1994 as a national clearinghouse and network, created by a core group of sixteen organizations concerned about the dramatic ecological impacts of wildland roads on public lands. Led by a staff of experienced conservationists, Wildlands CPR has always worked in collaboration with other groups, and takes pride in its strong commitment to listening, dialogue, and the ability to work with diverse constituents.
Wildlands CPR believes, first, in protecting our last roadless areas. We also support putting people to work restoring our natural areas, as right now our backcountry, fish, wildlife and water are threatened by more roads than we need or can afford to maintain.
In addition, a vocal minority of off-road vehicle users are driving all over our public lands. Our natural landscapes are becoming increasingly crowded, noisy places, limiting our freedom to enjoy the peace and quiet that make our public lands special.
We can restore balance, save money, and create jobs by restoring unneeded forest roads to their natural state, and by ensuring that public land managers effectively control and manage off-road vehicles.
