have you driven it?
I have the 2.0 and it feels a heck of a lot less ballsy onroad than the 2.5 v6
however compared to the previous trackers...
its an unbelievable difference in terms of the feel
I went out yesterday and took an old I think JX out for a boot (Was on sale for 2g's) I was intrigued in looking for a build up offroader...
however that 1.6 L just didn't cut it for me at all
the car is quite a bit narrower, has the same body on frame as my 03' tracker, but seemed to just not feel nearly as refined
mind you the vehical is getting older being a 94
however boy, did it ever rattle
However it still was running strong, but as strong as that 1.6 L, it really was quite loud highway driving and havning to walk out and lock the hubs manually was a bit of getting used to
well anyways... I cannot say I regret my new body style (would be nice if there were more parts)
however it really seems to be quite a bit different animal to the old sidekick/vitara/tracker
in terms of building a good offroad vehicle
I really would like to build up a leaf spring offroad suspension vehicle
up here in winnnipeg manitoba
i'm really debating a couple of options
I have decided that with my tracker, the tires, and 2.5" bl from RRO w/ coil spacers, lsd, a home made skid, and rear tow bar is all i'd need for time being for an on/off road vehicle
I do want however a leaf suspension offroad vehicle but trying to find a sammy here is tough, especially in good condition... and I'm worried about the lack of HP... as I will still need to commute quite a long way to just get to an offroad site
so... for the same price as a sammy here, I could get into a older CJ w/ dana 44" and a 4.0
and in regards upgrades are very simular in prices
