Sammy owner now on the darkside.
« on: November 23, 2007, 09:44:42 PM »
I just picked up a '95 4dr JX 16v. But I still have the Sammy! 8)

Any one wanna offer up some pointers on this thing? It has an auto tranny along with a switch on the console that when I switch it will tell me power on the gauge cluster. Is it a factory installed NoX system? ???

Any one know where I can find an owners manual so I can read up on this thing? Online would work nicely.

Owners manuals can be had, Try Hawk strickly suzuki. The power switch just raises the shift points in the transmission. If you kick the truck into overdrive the light should come on also. Power helps hold your speed on hills etc.

Driving the thing down the highway in OD the light did not come on but it does when I just push the power button. Another question about the auto tranny. Do they all shift hard from first to second?

Mine 3 speed auto shifted hard like that and a new modulator valve cured it.
My 4 speed auto has allways done that, even after havind it flushed, new filter, synthetic fluid etc.I gave up and learned to deal with it.
I loves my 4 door kicks, and think they are the perfect trucklet.plenty of room, good performance, power everything, and since I went to 4 doors my children and girlfriend come along much more frequently.A definite plus!

Don't get me wrong about the shift, I was just wondering if it was normal. It reminds me of my old '66 Nova with a full manual turbo 400.
