Need help with crossover/downpipe on GV
« on: November 26, 2007, 12:32:15 PM »
I have a 2000 GV that needs a new crossover/downpipe.  The dealer wants $360 for the pipe and can't tell me for sure if it is a new design over what is on it currently.  I found two on ebay but they are two different designs in the "flex joint."  I am trying to find out which pipe I should go with.  One looks like what I have and the best I can describe it is that it looks like an accordion, and the other looks like mesh/weave in the joint.  Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

They both function the same way, just with a different approach. The accordian style is just that, and is a flexible joint constructed of several interlocking components.Tha mesh style is kind of like a steel braided hose in appearance and design.I prefer the mesh type.

Thanks for your response, so in your experience does the mesh type hold up better?  We actually would like to sell the vehicle, I don't want to put a band aid fix on it for the next owner.
