Hi,

As the title says i need to find out what is correct, i bought the scosche one from walmart wich says it works, but didnt even come close to fitting the factory harness half.....

Also do i just leave the harness for the factory radio laying  in the opening?
 there is some black wire with a red stripe if i recall correctly connectted to it and running to the carpet to junction with other wires, i assume some kind of security thing.....

Any help asap would be great as it lay in peices till i can get the right harness

Well i went ahead and ordered a harness from crutchfield, should be correct from them i would think...

Im still not sure what to do with that wire though.... it shoots directly off of the removable factory radio harness and goes in a completey diffrent direction than the rest of the harness wich plugs into the factory half, its just a single wire that goes somewhere else... It wouldnt be hooked up in the to the after market cd played as its just connected to the factory radio harness.. Im not sure if i should cut it and connect it to somthing on the new harness or what...

   I have never gotten the wrong part from Chrutchfield and I have ordered shitloads of stuff from them.
  I would leave the wire in question alone.It could part of something that matters like an alarm or some such.

As for the wire... just leave it eh?

   if you need that wire,the Crutchfield kit will have a provision for it.

I ordered my stero, speakers and harness through Crutchfield.  Awesome to deal with and the harness was spot on and the colors even matched up on every wire.

Im sure it will work out fine...

Well got the harness, everything went in fine...

BUT, it came with some ground wire with a clip on the end seprate from the rest of the harness wich i didnt need...

as for that wire i didnt know what it did, i ended up following it closer and it was actully the ground wire hooked under a bolt under the carpet behind the dash, easily pulled back the carpet to reveal it...

then just used a socket wrench unhooked that negative, hooked up the new negative on the stereo harness and i was done, placed the carpet back...

but now i gotta get a new climate control plastic as you can see in the pic, a small section broke off right below the red ..
