need pics. pleeeeaz help!!!!
« on: December 06, 2007, 10:55:41 PM »
k so im planning to put the 2 inch body lift on this month so added to my other lift that would equal 5"  3 suspen 2" body.  i see many of you are running 31's  im running 30's now.  will this really be that noticable on the trails.  or does it just make these little kickers look that badass?  pleazzzze send picks or feed back let me know.   and how much power loss will occure from 30's to 32's or 33's?

The jump from 30's to 31's doesn't seem worth the money, time, or effort to me.  I've been running 30's for a few years, and have room to run 32's now, so that's what i'll jump up to, when a good deal comes my way.

If the tires measured what they actually say, which they don't, then a 31" tire would only give 1/2" more lift over what you have already.  You might gain something from the extra width, but i like my 9.5" wide tires.  I want to run a 32x9.5" tires, and that seems like it would be worth it.

There's an online tire calculation thing somewhere on the web that will show you what kind of percentage the tire is different from what you have.  You could google it.

Not to steal the thread but can you also post what your tracker runs like with the 30-31-32" tires ? Or how about this whats a good setup for mostly daily driver weekend easy play toy.I also plan about 4" of lift what's a good tire size .I seen a 2" body lift with 235's yesterday looked really good But I think I want a little more how much is too much?...?...?

30's are all I need to go anywhere unlesss you are rock crawling I suppose which I have no desire to do. I'm with Crikeymike.. bring a tape and measure the tires. I think the biggest 30's are the Wal mart liberators for treadwidth and hieght. A Trackick with a 2" spacer lift and 30's is a formidible off road vehilcle. Seems still the cheapest mod to compensate for the tires is a cat back 2 1/4 exhaust with a high flow cat and muffler. $300.

For a daily rider and weekend toy which is exactly what mine is I did a 1.5 inch OME(worth the money) lift with 30s and it is great.  I still have power and I have close to 10.5"s of clearence before airing down.  I am still getting 29.9 MPG as well which I need since I commute.  I did go to a K&N air filter and PowerMax 7MM cables to lessen the MPG hit.

I know I have read that 30" and 1.5" lift gives a little rub at full articulation but I have not had it happen yet.

If you search a bit you will see where alot of guys have reported that stepping up to 31"+ is where you fell the power hit which is why I stayed where I am.  I did alot of searching on this site and reading before decideing.  Reading is alot cheaper then learning the hard way and everyone on here has always been great.

i run the calmini. 3" suspen lift, with 30's.  its impressive but also expensive.  i drive daily on the road both city and college commute, no problems really, have to look into my EGR, though. i guese for the moderate off roaders, go with spacers or a body lift..  these little trucks already wheel great you just have to focus on the clerance area.

I just took a new photo of it this weekend

With 3" calmini lift, and OME struts front, OME shocks rear, and 1" coil spacers upfront to account for the poorly drooping springs.

Also, 2" body lift, no outer fender trimming, just inner on the front, and 30x9.5 BFG MT's.

I did the bodylift myself in just a few hours, about 2.5 years ago.  It was pretty easy, and the only problem i had was the supplied new front mount bolts were not long enough, so i got some new ones in for it.

The front coil spacers were required for me since the coils had seen some pretty hard use already.  Without them in, i only had about a 2" lift (sitting at the same height as it used to with the OME stuff), so after the 1" spacers, i'm not exactly sure how high it is.  My guess is 3-3.5" over stock.  The clearance is great though, and i have about 4-5" of strut down travel, so the CV's are in good phase.  The coils bottom out really easily though.  I don't think you'd want to try a spacer with new (less than a year old) calmini coils.  Give it time, and they'll most likely settle, according to what i've read.

Send me a PM when you wanna go wheeling.

I run a 2" spacer lift from jeff1997. I have 31x10.50 MT's on 15x8 steelies with 4" of backspacing. I had to trim the inside of the front fenders, but no trimming on the outside of the front or rear fenders at all. I don't rub in the front at all, but I do get some pretty good rubbing in the rear fenderwells at full stuff. I've had good luck with the 31's and only a 2" lift, but I think that I'm just lucky and have a higher sitting tracker from the factory, because most guys I've seen on here say they rub with 30's and only 2", so who knows. I think every vehicle is a little different. Here's a picture for reference.

I'm running big 30's with 1-7/8 spacer lift.I had to pound back the insides of the rear fenders only. I get slight rub in front at full lock, no biggie. No body lift. You could to to big tires with a 2-3" body lift.
