I hear Dostech & Napa (cheapest line they have) work VERY well. The truck is so light, it doesn't need (and actually benefits from the lack of) fancy valving. Depending on how high that SPOA of yours is... I hear F150 shocks work rather well.

The 'best' way to get a good matching shock is to measure your suspension travel & distance from shock mounts. NAPA has a book that they can use to match your measurements, and get you the proper shock.

actually I dont have SPOA..... I really plan and hope to do that soon tho

but yeah arent you just supposed to measure from mount to mount and the extension of the shock should go about half way extended when in the mount and still have about half of its extension left? or is that way off?

but just a real cheap shock will do the trick?

will it ride any better? (not that I really care too much lol)

Compress the suspension til the axle is against the bump stops. Measure the distance between the mounts. This is your compressed length. You probably want to go slightly shorter so you are sure it does not bottom out. Then let the suspension droop to full extension and measure again. This will give you your optimum setup after that you just need to find the right shock.

I'd reccomend a stockish type shock that meets the measurements sidekicksrock suggested.

"heavy duty" shocks in these light rigs are a bad choice IMO. The rancho "adjustables" might be nice, but it's hard for me to justify the price when a "crown vic" shock rides just fine.

It'll ride much better & safer with shocks. Get the cheapest NAPA brand you can get your hands on - really - they will give you best ride because our trucks are so light. Anything stiffer (which is what more expensive shocks are) is BAD for these little guys.
