any one got pics and sources for switches they used for an interior winch control?

What you want is a self centering momentary two terminal switch. I have seen them at some bigger hardware stores. I found some here, http://www.wiringproducts.com/index1.html but you have to dig the site uses domain masking. You want one they are calling MOM-OFF-MOM. They have safety covers and switch boots at the bottom of the page. I _know_ what I need, looking for some that won't look like crap installed into a trac/kick.

The top left toggle is the cooling fan override switch and the lower right is the winch toggle. I may add a cover to it, I am worried that I could knock it with my hand or knee if I'm not careful.

yea, I'm not a fan of a toggle for that reason too.

I looked at digi-key and see some rockers that wight work. Might even get a second "illuminated" on-off (so I know when the winch is "on" and only then would the momentary rocker provide in-out.

I bought some mom-off-mom switches off of ebay (they look like the ones that sidekicksrock has) .  I have one wired and installed on the backside of the solenoid box on the winch (so I don't have to hook the remote lead up when strapping down on the trailer, or for when the winch bitch needs to loosen the cable to unwind it), I have another wired in on the dash.  For the one on the dash, I have it wired through a "hidden" switch under the dash, so I can kill the power to it, for when the kids are playing around in the samurai.
I have them wired through relays as well.

There are some really good ideas here, if I had kids that played in lil Suzy (would never happen) I would do the hidden override as well. I think I will be ok with a cover. It has been there like that for some time and I have not knocked it yet but better safe than sorry.

Wal-mart and auto zone both sell the covered switches for around ten bucks,bunch of different colors and carbon fiber also.

That seems like a pretty good alternative.

If you can find the right kind of switch, which shouldn't be hard, it's just a matter of wiring it up.  Yet again, another one of those things that i've been putting off doing for a few years.

I looked all over for a winch control for my Kodiak 4 wheeler recently. Everywhere I went wanted 50-60 bucks. I found one a Tractor Supply Company for $30-35 and it has a remote on off switch included. Resembles some of the others that have been posted here but 20 bucks cheaper. Works great too.

I forgot about roadless gear I knew I had seen one on someones site, My Wife surprised the S|removethispart|@^% out of me and bought me a Warn m8000 for my B-day and I was looking for that switch
