Spring spacers .

My understanding is if I put in a 1/2" spring spacer I will get 1" of lift with 1" I will get 2" of lift 1.5" will give 3" is this true ... is this true?? So if I wanted 2" of lift I would put in a 1" spring spacer in the front and a 2" spring spacer in the back.

No I don't believe thats true. my 1 & 1/8th" spacers lifted about 1.5" total up front. in the rear the spacer lift is exactly how much it will lift

  1.5 inch spacers gives 2 inches of lift in the front.You will need 2 inch to get 2 inch in the rear.

kingzoo is dead on, 1.5" in front and 2" in back. I sell this combo if interested.

 I would like to add some 2" spacers. Is this a simple procedure?  Is there any welding or other modification involved?  I would like to add some 2" spacers.  Do you need special tools?  How long does it usually take?

I can do a spacer lift on a Kick in about 4 hours. Mind you I have done this a few times and know what I might be getting into... like rusted and breaking bolts and what not.
You can put the spacers in the rear by simply disconecting the shocks and dropping the rear axle with a jack while the reat of the truck sits on stands.
The front on the other hand is alot more involved as the sway bar has to be disconected along with the calipers and top strut mount. Be careful lowering the a-arms and do this slowly to avoid injury or taking out the neighbours brick wall with the coil spring going for a fly across the driveway. Lots of tension on the front coils.

[/quote]Two words, SPRING COMPRESSER! You will need it to get the spring back in and it makes removal a little easier too.

Long time no chat...
I never had to use a coil compressor my self. Just had to disconect all the crap and pull on the a-arms and in went the coil spacers. One less tool I had to buy.
Send me a pm and if yer not busy tomorow maybe we can find a place thats open for coffee.

No need for a spring compresors.....First remove the free/ lock then the snap ring, then the calibor and don't forget the ABS sensor if you have one, after that place a jack under the A arm and unscrew the top of the strut and unscrew the swaybar.....after that lower the jack slowy until the spring is free..... :)
