BUILT is the key term.

When loaded up with camping gear this summer we tipped the scales at 4793lbs. (fully loaded)  *gasp*  (2011 front / 2782 rear)

I have thought about taking the torch to a lot of my 'add-ons' to take some of the weight out of it.  (cutting circles out of things like bumpers, etc)  I know I could have engineered some things quite a bit lighter (like the cross members for the dual cases).  But I hate it when things break, especially when I could have avoided it by over building in the first place.

I'm afraid to re-weigh after these new axles and tires are on it.  I bet we tip close 4000 empty, which sucks.

Good thing for gears.

the whole key to my truck working well is ground clearance and weigh.  it kinda floats over stuff more than tearing into it.  This spring we are going to barrow a set of 33/12.50's to test and see if more floation is what i need.

The ratio on those axles is 4.10's right? Is there lower numerical ratios you could use? 5.'s?

Just did a quick parts search for 95 LC front axles with locker, 4.10's - $ ranges from $2200 for running axles to $600 for bent axles and that's just the front.

How long has your truck been on stilts?
