Tracker Shift Knob
« on: October 31, 2004, 02:23:59 AM »
Does anybody know how to take off a shift knob of a 93' Geo Tracker?

The 4WD knob has a screw in
the back side of it.

I'm not sure how the trans
shifter is on Track/Kick, Sammies
are threaded on

Do you have a new knob
for it, or did you need to
get the shifter handle off
for a body lift ???

I would just turn it counter
clockwise until it came off,
it's tight so it stays in the
right spot to match the gear
shift pattern

Well then, your not going hurt
the shifter handle, so twist away
;D

PS
Try a big pair of Vice-Grips, as long
as you don't need the knob in the
future the teeth marks don't matter

No, just a knob from Auto Zone, a LED shift knob. I guess it's a regular size but the tip on the bottom of it is pretty small.

Do you have a parts manual on a 93' Geo Tracker for changing a shift knob?

No, sorry
I like to go to the wrecking yard
and destroy or figure out how a
part comes off before I do my own
stuff, that is if I don't figure it out
first

Yeah, it does screw off but we had to cut part of the knob off and it just screw off. That new shift knob we put on there looks really cool. It has a LED blue light, the gears light up on it.

Post some pics, man! Sounds neat if it is black with glowing gear numbers. :)
