ignition leads; rules re lengths
« on: November 01, 2004, 06:12:16 AM »
Changed my leads as part of the car's 10th birthday tune up. I bought a full matched set, and noticed that the coil to distributor lead only just reached. The coil is correctly mounted on the firewall.

Today the car started missing, and sure enough the lead was easing out of the coil.

The lead I bought is labelled 24", and I see the next size up available is 30"; if I fit this to avoid the stretching will it affect performance/tuning?

30" will be fine, just to try to route it so its away from anything metal. That way theres less chance of it shorting in the wet as it ages.
