So Sidekicks came in alot of configurations, 2d, 4D 2WD 4WD etc. So that leads me to believe there is a different length drive shaft for each configuration. For instance a 2D, 2WD would have a longer shaft than a 2D,4WD version because there would be no transfercase...

Does anyone know the lengths of driveshafts?

Throw in vitara, grand vitara and xl7 for good measure and it seems like we should have a bunch of standard equipment sizes of drive shafts..

Anybody know any sizes?

The reason I ask is I sort of trashed mine on the hammers last weekend and was looking for a standard replacement for my custom shaft. And maybe with the right length I could loose this spacer too.

The XL-7 (old style) has a 3-bolt flange at the rear diff.

If I remember correctly. I have a 92 tracker. A friend needed a new shaft for his 2000 vitara. 4dr 4x4. If i am correct the shafts were the same but i think the front yoke had to be changed. Hope that helps a bit.

i was always told it wasnt the size of your shaft that mattered, but how you use it


so now , jokes aside......... there is also a different spline count on the older VS. newer(95 or 96 being the year of change.
i dont know which one you dammaged, but i'f i remember correct you had a slight vibe in yours, well fred(x90 slayer)has built some kind of hybred with a toyota d/c joint. i think he even kept the slip at the t-case, just put the c/v in between and solved all his issues. if you want his #just give me a call.
