235s will rub on a Sami.  You can beat the seam down on the inside of the wheel well and trim the front bumper if its stock to get them to fit, but they will still rub when flexing offroad.  You might be able to find a wheel combo that would work or live with the rubbing til you can get a lift on it.  The Sami on the far left in this pic is running 235s with no lift.  Ran it like that for a few years.

I would have to say that you may be in for having to lift your Sammy a little bit if you don't want any rubbing I had to bring my Sammy up about an inch in order to clear the 235's with out rubbing.

88 Samurai with 2 inch longer shackles(equals 1 inch lift) and 235 Wildcat A/T's

This is what mine looked like after a 1 inch shackle lift.

Course you could just go for the whole shebang and lift it buy some 31's and have it look like this.

Mean Green Wheeling Machine
88 Samurai 1" Shackles SPOA with 32" Tires
It's not a Jeep thing, it's not a Suzuki thing, or a Chevy,Ford thing.
It's a wheeling thing now get out and do it!

With out gears of some kind the 235's will suck alot of horse power out of it, mine would only do 45 up a hill.
1987,1988,1988,1990 samurai's,  1953 m38a1,  1996 x-90,blue.1996 x-90 red.1994 2 door tracker.   only Dead Fish go with the flow.                No Hairy Nosed Wombats were ran over on the trail today.       My ZUK is Xenophobic.

really? I actually had no trouble with the 235's and power and I drove it to work and back at 60?
course there are so many factors that play into that.
:P
engine condition, exhaust condition, weight of person (Course I'm a fat ass at 280), weight taken out of vehicle.

Bashzuk, that second picture is the shite.  I would love to make it look like that but this is a daily driver as I already have a 72 CJ5 with all full size chevy under it.  I ended up getting some 215/75/15 since the guy at the tire store gave me a look like I was nuts for even asking about 235's.  Next I need to get the exhaust fixed is looks like swiss cheese and see if that improved the power.  I have done some reading regarding the stock carb and was wondering what is involved in going to the weber and loosing the smog stuff since I don't need emissions where I live.  Anyone gone this route?

I get that all the damn time.  People giving me the look as if I dont know what Im doing.  One time at  Les Schwab tire retailer, I asked for 33's for my samurai, They gave me the look.  I said "ohh duh me the sami is stock.  So gimme 33's."  And the store manager who knows my mom, He approached the counter and said "I know him, he got a project going on."  The tire tech just backed off.  Jeez.

I was a tire guy for 3 years at a local tire shop and you would be surprised at how many people come in to get over sized tires on their trucks and suvs (mostly Jeep guys) and never look into see what fits and what hits and don't know they need a lift.
