After some long threads and lots of measuring I got hold of some shocks for the rear of my tracker
I have given my self 5  inches and a bit more drop around 13 and abit total travel in all.

I had to slightly adjust the brake line and the A arm to get a better angle on the prop.

Also cut to slots in the bottom spring base to allow me to clamp the spring. I may add some cones as the spring drops out the top by 3 inches just on the stock bump stop.

Here are a couple of pics on the HI LIFT I will take some out on the trail this weekend,
You can also see my rear winch that was added a few weeks ago.

This picture has the new shock on the right and the old one on the left

Will do the strut mount flip at the weekend and maybe look at what i can do to gani a little more on the front

i alowed my rear sprins to drop like that but under load the axle twisted the spring compressed some crazy way and off it went. i was driving so i didn't see what happened and it cost enough in repairs not to try it again. messed up my tire pretty bad and my fender but i sold that tracker and have another now. the guy who went on the ultimate adventure said u need to have equil travel is better than more. i have to agree with his statment.

tried to take that into account by only allowing it to come down an inch so plenty of spring still on the upper stock cone/bumpstop,  will have faith in my radius arms and A arm to hold the axle in place.  but will message back if it all goes wrong this weekend when i put it to the test

They look like very long shock bodies with the standard top mounts. How much upward travel have you got?

If I remember correctly, I thought that someone tried the strut mount flip with the Calmini 3" lift, but it was too much travel for the CVs.

I think it should be OK as its only around 3/4" of extra drop, other people have run the OME struts which are 1 1/2" longer. I keep looking at that pic, have you checked the UJs for binding? what about the bottom of the shock body is it clear of the casing? I keep thinking that if you haven't modified one of the mounts those shocks are going to be history in a very short time. What about the prop too, is it long enough?

adjustable Aarm helped correct the UJ issue but to be honest it wasnt that bad.

It will no doubt be under more stress than norm but the amount of time it would be at full flex is minimal, i would have to say i woundnt want to go any longer.
I thought about movning the mount but it seems fine.

I have lost 1.5" inches of upward travel which will allow me to fit 35" tyres if the gearing needs slight adjust. my upward travel was too much anyway.

More actuall road testing is required as driving the local lane it was fine at full articulaton and i dumped the clutch a couple of times to see how it held up.

I will report back after tomorrows outing

Out for another test run I did manage to get the rear axle on it most flex or almost.

The first picture didnt come out to well they dont show how deep that ditch was

First view from the rear

side view of wheel in arch as you can see that 1.5 inch loose in compressions hasn`t made a differnence

finally the prop angle took at the same time

because the other wheel was compressed  up it hasn`t effected the prop angle and in extreme casing of articulation this will always be the case,

Full day off roading soon will be the final test but Im happy it all works great

With the stock half shafts I had trouble with the CV's running the 3" drop bracket and the upper strut mount flipped. On the right side the inner shaft kept slipping out where there was only a little bit of the splines turning in the side gears and causing it to twist and snap off in the housing. The drivers side(US) was OK after I installed a 1/2" spacer between the inner axle ant the triple flange on the half shaft. If your runnin an Anvil I dont think it will be as much af a probem, but if yous still running the stock right shaft, keep an eye on it.

How did you address the shock bottoming out before the springs? Did you make some bumpstops or are the shocks the limiting factor in your up travel? If it's you shocks be ready to but new shocks on a regular basis. I was running like that for a while and it wore shocks out quick.

cheers for the tips , i did some more measuring on the front struts and i think i am going to leave them as they are unless i fancy dropping the axle an 1 inch. but problems come with that as i don`t fancy chopping my subframe around.

The shocks have built in bump stops as pro comps but if your saying they wont last a bump stop maybe in order.
i may knock up a dislocating cone with a rubber stop in the end ,
unless there is an easier way, can always run with it and see how affective the shock bump stop is, :-)

thanks for the advise

Before its too late lift the vehicle by the frame and let the rear axle hang, then turn the driveshaft. Be sure its not binding or pulling out too far. I have long shocks as well but I had to overrotate the rear axle to achive it.
