im doing a sidekick rear axle to sammy swap(hybrid).  kinda doing it low budget and wonder if it is ok to weld up the gears to make it locked front and rear?  i bought all new bearings and seals front and back but dont really want to spend 500+ on lockers.  any advice?/  thanks bruce

Some people have and like it well enough.  I spent the money and picked up a mini-spool from Trail Tough.  :)

i welded the rear on my tracker, drive it daily to work and around town. i love it and wouldn't do anything else for a rear locker. as far as the front goes, im welded in front on my toy. even with it in 2wd and the hubs locked in, it is hard to steer, even with power steering. in my own opion, weld the rear and buy a front locker unless it's just a trail rig. hope this helps.
