Shocks???
« on: March 03, 2008, 05:31:38 PM »
Have a spring over lift and looking for a smoother ride!!!!!!  Maybe a little more articulation???  what would be the next step???  Looking for something that is a direct bolt up for my 86 sami, for front and rear shocks... ???  One more question, would a Rancho steering stabilizer help with my steering control??? I dont want to turn the wheel 1/4 turn left to right in order to go straight....
Thanks for your help.....

A really nice pair of shocks will smooth out your ride, but they won't help with your articulation.  The next step is to start swapping springs.  There are a couple different ones to try.

Jeep YJ Conversion - Front and Rear springs from a Jeep YJ
CJ/RUF Conversion - Use springs from the front of a Jeep CJ in the back, and more the Rear springs up front.
Coil Spring Conversion - Swap out everything.  :)

Crown Vic, Mustang and F-250 shocks I've heard reccomended for Trackers and Sidekicks, but not sammys... I might be wrong though...

I have a 86 Suzuki sami with a 5in coil over lift
tried 3 different shocks and on all of them they were to short on the compressed size
now I'm back with stock size
now the rear is like a bomb hits when I hit a speed bump slowwwly
now I searched around and seen shock tower mounts for the front which I have just purchased and looking for something to do to the rear....I really don't want to weld on the axle for the lower shock mount but is that the only thing I can do that is relatively inexpensive??? Is there a way to mount them on the outside of the frame instead of the inside???

Need Lots of Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks SkipTLoo
