One more question, would a Rancho steering stabilizer help with my steering control??? I don't want to turn the wheel 1/4 turn left to right in order to go straight....
Thanks for your help.....

Oooo... what does it mean when you step on the break and your steering shoots to the left/or to the right on occasion?????  does it 3 out of ten times??????

Check for play in the steering and suspension joints, the steering box and the rag joint. The steering stabilizer won't make any difference to how far you have to turn the wheel to start things happeninmg.

One of your brakes is nor working or seized.

Have a freind rock the steering whel back n forth about a 1/4 turn or so or untill you see the front wheels moving... just moving and not full turns. Have a look at all contact points in the steering system, (rag joint... steering shaft u-joint... steering box... as well as all front steering points) and you will most likely see the problem. I had the same issue but i knew it  was my inner n outter tie rods. While i was there I noticed my idler arm bushing was loose as well.
As for pulling to the left or right under breaking... You definately have a siezed caliper up front like Rhinoman said.  Easy fix... Pull off the caliper and completely dissamble. I use antisieze compound but there are also other high temp greases you can use... Just use enough to cover those areas... not too much.
You don't need to pull off the brake line but it might be easier to free up all the bolts when the caliper is still mounted on the vehicle.
