bump steer /front wheel oscillation?
« on: March 07, 2008, 04:05:06 PM »
I have a 88.5 hard top, going to install a x-90 power steering and new steering stabilizer.  I am also looking for a steering system to put on it, I have stock rods with a 3" drop pitman on it.  I have a 5 1/2" calmini lift that has the springs under the axle..... would like to find a system to steer over the springs and help my bump steer.  I am also in the process of putting in new bearings/knuckle rebuild kit and new hubs.... can't think of anything else I can do to stop the bump steer, it only does it when i hit a bump at around 25-30 mph and just starts on its own from 28-30..... have 33" tires.... HELP

Sky's Suzuki Samurai OTS. steering. Full crossover with high steer kits now available. Sky's uses massive Toyota FJ-80 Landcruiser tie rod ends, almost 50% larger than weaker Suzuki ends.  Using Toyota ends also gives us the advantage of adjustable steering linkage, unlike other standard RH thread only kits on the market. This kit can be installed in under an hour, no modifications are needed, fully bolt on and adjustable. Kit -01 is standard crossover, with no tie rod change, kit -02 includes the driver side arm and new tie rod.

Kit Price Part # SUZ-OTS-01 - $185.

Kit Price Part # SUZ-OTS-02 -$360.00

Trail Tough

This kit is top quality! Steering arm is machined steel and includes 1" .250 wall drag link and tie rod with all new metric tie rod ends. Puts the drag link above the springs and eliminates bump steer. This is the way to do your steering correctly. A must with YJ suspension!

Item #KOS-300 Price $279.00

Mean Green Wheeling Machine
88 Samurai 1" Shackles SPOA with 32" Tires
It's not a Jeep thing, it's not a Suzuki thing, or a Chevy,Ford thing.
It's a wheeling thing now get out and do it!

Awsome, this is what I am looking for, going to complete the front end and then finish wiring up my 1.6 out of the x-90 and should be on the road soon.... still have to do the rear disc brake conversion and my e-brake that installs on the transfer case/drive shaft and I will be golden.  Thank you, will be ordering the ots-2 this month, (wife leaves for Afghanistan) so I can buy what I want for my baby for 15 mos lol .......Will be swapping in some 5.12 difs soon too so will have a fun toy in about two mos...
