Snapped Front body Stud/Bolt WTD?
« on: March 24, 2008, 05:15:21 PM »
Here's the deal. I got a 92 Track and a 93Track and the 93 is my daily driver. The other one has just been sitting in my driveway for a few weeks. Recently I purchased a rockyroad 2" Lift and decided I would practice on the 92 just to see what I was getting into. Upon taking the grill and headlights out I tried wrenchin on the front body mount. first I hit it with some PB blaster for a couple of hours and it still snapped in half as soon as i applied minor force to it. So if anyone can tell me where I go from here I would really appreciate it. Any suggestions would be awesome!.

Drill the rest of it out, just use a nut and bolt cut a small hole in the frame, the hole is to get the nut on, and then just weld the hole up.

Dude that pic is perfect. that's exactly what I'm probably going to do. Is that the 2" or 3" body lift? If you have any other pictures of how you did it or even where you put the back two body mounts that you just adhere to the body, could you post em? thanks for all the help people!

Mine broke too on the passenger side, I slipped a nut over the remaining piece and welded a nut to it. Thn heated everything with a torch and wrenched it out.
