I have a 4 door (not a Sport though). It rips around pretty good with 31's on it. They will fit if you have proper backspacing on your wheels, at least a 1.5" coil spring spacer lift, and a 2" body lift, and some fender bashing. If you're into more tough trails though, put some gears in it otherwise you will kill the clutch as I have just done. I enjoy the extra space most of the time. The only downside is the breakover angle is a little less than a shorty, but just drive smart and you should be able to handle it.
PS: The 1.8L the Sport has might handle the 31's better than my 1.6
