Pics of my camo 83sj410
« on: March 25, 2008, 08:14:41 PM »
Finally learned how to post pics so I thought I would show off my junk. The 1 liter doesn't quite have the jam for the 31" boggers but the 87 Sammi I am building will.I still have to paint the roof I see.
Who knew 45 horsepower could be so fun???

Those tires are way too wide looking. Put some pizza cutters on and it'll be sweet! I like the general look of the truck though. Is that the air intake on the driver's side back corner of the hood?

Nice, looks like you could use some wheel spacers and add some of those flairs that TT has. Those 31's do look large, think 35's would be overkill on a Sami?

Yeah those tires are pretty wide 12.5s on 12" rims. I don't actually run those tires it doesn't have the power to turn them. I run 7.00 R15 bias ply Good Years they look like old army tires.I bought the Boggers for the 87 Sammi I am building. They stick out even further on it due to the wider axles, but I bought a set of 6" TJ flares and they will cover the tires up perfectly. The thing on the cowl actually covers the heater air intake. It is different than the Samurai, the previous owner installed it to keep leaves out of the heater.

If you are asking my opinion if 35s are too big for a Sammi I don't think so.The 31s do look big on my 83 I think it would need at least a couple more inches of lift, it has a basic spring over 4.5" lift. My 87 is eventually getting a complete Toyota powertrain on YJ leafs with 5.29s and at least 35s. Otherwise I may as well just stick with Sammi axles.Boggers weren't my first choice, but I got them for $100 a tire. I think they will take too much horsepower to turn and get spinning fast in heavy mud. When I buy bigger tires I think I will go with a TSL type tread. Once you get a Sammi lifted enough that 35s will fit the tires really don't look that big.

I was kinda leaning that last remark towards the kick owner that mentioned pizza cutters not you, guess I should have done some quoting on that post.

My Sami has 32'' TSL's now and after I do the YJ swap I am planning on running some narrow 33" boggers unless I decide to do some cutting then I'll go with the 35's.

When you get to building the 87 post up some pic's. And a pic or two of the 410, maybe with the roof painted? ;)
