Does anyone happen to have a spare Sami front spindle that they can measure the inner dia on?

Trying to see how big of an axle might be possible in the stock ( or slightly modified ) spindle.

I'm trying to get an idea together for a 30 spline 'kick floater rear axle...

I was doing the same thing, but
with a Kick front spindle, the problem
I have not looked at yet is a 30 spline
side gear to get the 30 axle shafts into.
I need to go a tear up some Toyota Difs
to see what they have. The only other
alternative is to have the stock gears
softened, re-broached to 30 spline and
then re-hardened, and it would cost
like $300 to get that done with no guarantee
that they would hold up

They make a 30 spline D30 and D35 ARB locker now. I remember that 27 spline upgrade was using a D30 27 spline ARB side gear.

The new 30 spline Dana30 arb is a different case design so I don't know if the side gear will still swap.

I think another possiblity is to run the D35 side gear maybe, but ARB hasn't let me know anything yet. The 30 spline version of that locker is out now for a big shaft upgrade through superior axle.

I need to know the spindle inner diameter also. I don't even know if a 30 spline axle will fit through it?

The Aisin toyota hub runs 30 spline and those inner parts are suppose to swap into a sami Aisin hub.

That is about as far as I have thought out the project.

the spindle is too small without some
machine work to fit a 30 spline axle

Perhaps a spindle from a Toyota would
fit, and it should be able to hold the axle

Toyota could work also. The bummer is making everything 5 on 5.5.

A full floater rear axle could use the
stock Kick/Sammy disk and bearing assy

A machined out spindle might fit a 30 spline,
what is the Dia of a 30 Spline axle

Dana 44 30 spline is 1.31" and I think toyota 30 spline is the same. I think the spline angle on the toy vs dana stuff is different though. 60 degree vs 90 degree or something......

The stock spindle might be able to be bored out that far, but I would worry about how strong it would be.

There are still options..

-The simple one would be to go semi-floating with a ford bearing end.

-Make a custom spindle or modify another to work. Toy might work well. Hell, there could be a bolt on one out there for all I know!

-Use a WARN full floating axle kit with a 5 on 5.5 pattern. More jeep parts than anything.

I don't really have much against using parts off other rigs, but I would really like to keep things more suzuki than anything. A part here and there is fine, but I want to keep the very light weight of the suzuki parts while making them strong enough to get the job done without having to worry.

The other bonus to making a 'zuk based full floater rear would be to limit spare parts and brake parts. If you built everything correct a single bearing set would work for all corners.....hubs would almost swap, rotors the same, blah de blah....

I bet it's a little bigger than a Sammy
Spindle, and .155 or .160 for a little
clearance isn't going to affect the strength
by much

I like the idea of keeping it Suzuki, for parts
simplicity as well as Zuki Pride

The spindle bolt holes are close to the hole
spacing on the rear of the alxe tube, a little
welding holes closed and re-drilling and it
will bolt right on, add the axles and you got
a full floater with disks and lockout hubs
