diesel conversion info needed
« on: April 27, 2008, 04:01:23 AM »
does antone have a picture of the adapter plate used to put the 1.9l vw diesel engine that goes in between the engine and automatic transmission (4x4)?? I have everything else to convert my toy but this plate. and they want an arm and half my leg just for the plate. I figure I could make my own with the plasma cutter and drill press. If anyone has a pic of it please let me know. thanks, Serious.

I am also considering doing the VW swap in the summer, but i need to find a good engine first... How much did you get yours for? and where ... a pull it yourself yard?
I found this picture

Its not from Acme but its from ROADLESS gear....
I unfortunately dont have a plasma cutter or the experience with a lathe, so i will probably go with the ACME because you get everything for the switch. and more wiring.

I'm not positive I'd buy from someone who's still using VHS...
'03 ZR2 2dr Tracker, '02 XL-7 drivetrain and electrcs
XL-7 front coils
1.5" rear coil spacers
Monroe 32316 shocks w/2" extenders
235/70-16 Bridgestone Destination A/Ts on stock XL-7 Alloys RRO Rock Rails (Presently removed, as they rusted to all hell; all the bolts were rusted to dust.  Real nice, RRO...) http://www.trivia-nights.com

The conversion kit through acmeadapters will work on all trackers up to 98 I believe. I think thats wjat one of there sales reps told me. I was just trying to find someone who makes the adapters to get it a tad bit cheaper that what eveyone else is wanting. Thanks,Serious.
