« on: May 06, 2008, 05:30:35 PM »
Hey guys!

Just building a 1.6 8 Valve to swap into my sammy! JUst had the block bored .020 over, Decked, Ground the crank and had the head done with new valves and such! My question is should i go with the stock cam? or put in a different one? Im going to run the fuel injection. And im gong to put on a header. Will i see go gains from a cam? What can i expect to get for milage on a tank of gas? My little 1.3 was cooked!

Thanks..

Tom

If you want more power and are keeping EFI then go for a mild cam. Some Zuk ECUs can be remapped but most of the early Zuk ones that I've seen can't and theres a limit to how well the ECU can correct the fuelling. If you're worried about gas mileage then keep the stock cam.

I've not tried either but I've heard good things about the Isky torquer cam. Changing the cam will lose power in some parts of the rev range. Where do you want to make more power?
