Spidertrax Tcase E break
« on: May 07, 2008, 11:08:51 AM »
Hey all, i just put a Spider trax T-case E break in my rig.  It went in pretty smooth and all, and it seems to work pretty good.

The only problem is that i cant get the caliper to free float, no matter how much i adjust it i cant get the pads off of the rotor.  Any one ever deal with these?  Any help would be awesome!

I have the same issue - actually had a friend make better brackets and it still does it.

Thats just what i like to hear ???
Hmmm I guess i will just have to tinker with it some more and try and figure out something.
Its like it needs springs in between the break pads to separate them and keep them from rubbing on the rotor.  Because this thing is pretty loud and it heats up pretty bad.

If all else fails ill just let the pads rub and burn down, you know...let it develop. ;D

Thanks

How does the caliper work? i.e. cable, hydraulic?

Its cable, you just take the stock E-break cable apart and rout it back around to the out put flange of the T-case.  It holds really well, the only problem is you cant adjust the caliper out enough to stop it from riding on the rotor.

Does anyone think the front break off of like a Harley or some sort of sport bike would have enough bit to stop a might sami?  It would also go from cable to hydraulic, which would be pretty cool.
Ill have to look into that.
